After my last post, some people got the mistaken impression that I support Mitt Romney for president, but actually, I was only asking a question. I have not decided who I’m going to vote for yet, it is way to early.
Like many Americans, I am an independent and vote for the person who I think will do the best job. I try to base my decisions primarily on a persons record, when they have one. (hence the reference to “fruit“) During campaign season, candidates will tell you all kinds of things that they think you want to hear; and they may be telling the truth for all we know. And as much as I would like to believe them, I think experience has taught us that you can’t always believe what you hear, regardless of how well the message is packaged. So, I pray; listen to what they have to say; weigh that against what their history reveals; pray some more; humbly try to determine who God wants us to be; and vote.
I pray, “God give us wisdom to make the right choices. And when we fail to hear your voice, may your grace keep us and protect us from our own hardheartedness and misplaced attentions.”
